Official says Russia’s accession to OECD slows down
MOSCOW, Jan 15 (PRIME) -- The negotiations on Russia’s accession to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) have slowed down, Speaker of the State Duma, the lower house of the parliament, Sergei Naryshkin said Wednesday at the meeting with Secretary-General of the organization Angel Gurria, RIA Novosti reported.
“In our opinion, the rates of Russia’s accession to the OECD have slowed down to a certain degree lately. And unfortunately I must say this again there was no progress in the majority of committees, but we hope that this is not due to some countries participants’ wish to halt Russia’s OECD accession process,” Naryshkin said.
Russia still hopes for OECD support in the joining, he said.
